Floral Friday Fashions

This Friday I could not wait any longer to wear my newest floral addition, a floral button down dress. I was not going to wear tights with it, but it was still just too cold for my taste. By the afternoon it was 80 degrees and they came off. The floral pattern has a navy background and then many pastel pink, yellow, green, and purple flowers, it completely looks like a grandma's couch, but it I love love love it! I have a pair of navy tights I have never worn and this was the perfect opportunity to wear them anyways. I went with my nude wedge heels, I can honestly not keep them off my feet. I think I have worn them about four out of the five days I have had them. And they get more and more comfortable every time I wear them.

St. Patrick's Day Pain

This Thursday was St. Patrick's Day and I knew exactly what I would be wearing. I have a pair of bright green pointy toe heels with white accents that I got on a trip to Brazil. They are terribly uncomfortable, but I just could not turn them down for St Patrick's Day! I wore them with dark wash boot cut jeans, a basic white v neck, a silver scarf, and a black members only jacket. I wore a pair of big round green earrings that I basically only wear on St. Patrick's Day also. I wanted to wear something that people would be like, Where's your green? and I can answer back right there and point down! That way it really is totally obvi. Theme days are so great because your outfit is practically already picked out for you!

What is Black and Red and Vintage?

Tuesday afternoon, I went antiquing around Lexington and found a major steal! It was a patent leather 1950's bag, in amazing condition. A red bag is something everyone should have, and I have been looking for one for a while and I finally found one I love. I knew I wanted to wear an outfit to show off my bag, and it just so happens that The Watch Force was filming part of their music video for the Black and Red Remix. They needed students to be in the video, including your truly. I kept it pretty basic, black tee with puffy sleeves, wide jeans, black booties, and a red and black plaid scarf. And of course the bag! The remix and the video was a hit and so was my bag!

Out with the Old Already

This Tuesday was the coldest day of the week and they were also calling for rain, yuck! So I figured I would go ahead and get all my cold weather outfits gone. Sometimes, it is like once you put on that first spring dress, it is so hard to go back to jeans and sweaters. I wore a half sleeved royal blue tunic sweater, skinny jeans, and black floret flats. It was only Tuesday but I was already thinking about how ready I was for Friday and 80 degree weather!

Springing into Sleep

This weekend we Sprang forward an hour. That means lost an hour of sleep, which means not good. I am normally not that effected by it, but my goodness it is Wednesday and I am still dead beat! Needless to say this Monday I was feeling the comfort calling, that means jeggings! I went with my black ones, a stretch cotton pink floral baby doll tunic, silver flats, and silver jewelry. I could honestly sleep in this outfit, and I did that afternoon. Hopefully the warm weather laster in the week will wake me up!

In the Nude

I got a pair of patent leather nude wedges Wednesday and they have been screaming my name! The rain finally calmed down, and I got my chance. It was still cool out so I paired them with wide dark jeans, a satin maroon tank, a khaki blazer, and a skinny grey belt. So, I lied, it was not a maroon tank, it was a dress tucked in to look like a bubble tank. Nobody would ever guess it, genius I know! Another of my many fashion secrets! Why not let an article in your closet act as many things as possible. This item is a double jeopardy. Some other dress I can wear as skirts, or put skirts over them and wear the top as a shirt tucked in. I love getting creative with my pieces and seeing how far I can take anything!

Rain Rain Go Away

Thursday I think it rained more than ever. I was expecting rain, but not this much.I went with khaki pin stripe roll up capris and orange flats. My shoes were soaked and made squishy sounds every time I took a step. I wish I was in rain boots, a rain jacket, and a rain hat. I have a class off campus and even though I had an umbrella, the wind was so bad I was still soaked from my waist down for fourth period, not to mention freezing cold. As for the rest of the outfit I went with a floral cap sleeve tee, tucked in; and my trench coat. The warm weather will truly not be here soon enough.

Rainy Wednesdays

This Wednesday they were calling for tons of rain. I felt like it would be a good day for boots. I went with my cognac embroidered boots and my forest green cords. I figured I would wear my cords one more time before it gets warm for good. I went with a cream blouse and my multi-colored zig zag scarf. I knew it would be cold especially with the rain so I wore my bomber jacket. I should have saved this outfit for Thursday because it rained so much more. But I guess there are only so many outfits that are good for rain.

Fancy Fat Tuesday

This Tuesday I found out it was Fat Tuesday, the last day of Mardi Gras, before I had decided what to wear. When I have to pick out an outfit quick, it is always easier if I have an occasion to dress for and Fat Tuesday was enough occasion for me! I thought I would bring out the sequins and shine in my wardrobe. I went with a royal blue button down scoop neck shirt over a gold sequin trim camisole. I went with clean cut wide jeans, and black sequin heels. There can most definitely be too many sequins in an outfit, but if you use them for accents, or a lot in one color it can work. Sequins are one item that should be used with caution.

Awkward Lengths and Perfect Accessories

Monday morning I knew they were calling for rain later in the week, so I figured I better go ahead and wear any floor grazing jeans now. I will just never get over wet pant bottoms. I went with my favorite and comfortable wide jeans. This pair is an awkward length, like too long for flats, but too short for heels, so they are perfect with kitten heels! I have two pair and I wanted to go with my red pointy toe ones today. Almost anytime I wear red heels I want that to be the focus, so I went with a long grey basic v neck, with a white rope belt at the high waist. It is amazing how just a simple piece of rope can change an entire outfit. Without it, I would have looked like a frumpy bum, that only owns one pair of shoes! Just remember, as long as you accessorize, your good, and Rachel Zoe says you can never over accessorize!

No Sweat Silver

Thursday night my contacts were bothering me, so Friday morning I decided to just go with my Versace silver frames with black arms. When I wear these I do not like to mix silver and gold. I also have sandals that have three silver circles with black straps. They could not go better with my glasses. I wore basic jeans and a black tee. I most definitely needed more color so I threw on a coral scarf. This was a pretty quickly put together outfit, but it still shows, that there is never a need or reason for sweats.

Ruffly Rompers, Major I Know

I am not sure if you all are ready for this outfit, it was pretty major. I had to take a special picture for yearbook today, so it had to be the BEST. You can never go wrong with a romper when you need something a little different, a little more out there, ad a little more original. Well I take that back, you can go wrong with a romper if you are wear a striped terry cloth romper to school. That is pool side only! This romper was grey with a half zipper, ruffles at the neck, and cap sleeved. It did not magically get super warm for me, so I did have to put something on over it. I wanted to keep school colors on, so I went with my red wool blazer, and tights. This also took the romper to another level. If I just had on the romper with sandals, then it would be very casual and just not major. I also went with black patent leather heels for half the day, the other half I had on my black flats. This is one of my most used fashion tricks, either way, the ensemble is still great! Keep you eyes out for this number in the yearbook!

Withering in the Winter

Well Wednesday was yet another cold day. I had to bring out the bomber jacket and my warmest scarf! As for the rest of the outfit, I went with skinny jeans, and a light green 3/4ths sleeve shirt with a see through floral print. I  wore a blue camisole under the shirt. I have blue moccasins the same color blue so those were perfect. If it does get warm soon I am going to have to start repeating cold weather outfits, and I refuse. The light green this Wednesday was pushing it for being too pastel for the cold weather. Thursday was a warmer day and a very special outfit, but it is a surprise, so I cannot tell what it is.

Bottom of the Barrel

This Tuesday was a cold day. I am running out of new things to wear in the cold weather, so I am scrapping the bottom of the barrel, or at least my drawers.I went with a sea green 3/4th sleeve top, tucked in. I wore my cognac leather belt with the paisley print. For the rest of my outfit, I went with the uniform. Wide jeans, cognac lace up booties, and my bomber jack in the cold. I need some warm weather so I can bring out some new shoes and dresses and such!

Rain and Rainbows

This Monday I wanted to wear something pretty comfortable, and it was rainy, so I thought capris would be the way to go. I wore my light blue and white striped pants, rolled up, with a green, ribbed, scoop neck top. I wore my grey over sized cardigan, and my rainbow Sanuks. My Sanuks are definitely the most comfortable shoes I own, and I suggest everybody invest in a pair! I do not wear tennis shoes often, and these are not even like let's go running shoes, but when I do it is def in the rain.

Patterns and Patience

This Friday I went with my friend and future roommate to visit NC State University. I have had to have too much patience waiting to find out if I got in or not, and I am still waiting! But it was a wonderful trip. Central and NCSU colors are the same, so I felt it necessary to go with red and black for a color scheme. I also knew it would probably be raining and I would be doing a lot of walking, so no heels, and no long jeans. I decided to go with skinny jeans, and over the knee black suede boots. On top I mixed patterns! It is okay, as long as it is nothing too crazy. I had on a red tank top with silver stripes, a black cardigan over that, and a white scarf with black polka dots. Most of the time I had on a grey trench, but in the afternoon the sun came out and it was  beautiful day.

Thirsty Thursday

Davidson County has been thirsty for some rain and today, we got it. When I know it is going to rain outside I prepare. I know I will not be in flip flops and I will not be in jeans that slightly touch the ground. This Thursday the high was actually 80 degrees, so I figured capris would be my best bet. With the thought of water in mind, i was feeling a little nautical. I brought out my white and navy horizontal stripped cardigan, over an orange tank, with a white rope belt worn at the high waist, and then white loafers. Yes loafers, complete with tassel. They are not that bad, I promise! More rain on Friday but no school in Davidson County for me!
