Ending Impressions

Well, this will be my last blog for a while. But I cannot say that I am complaining, because it will soon be my favorite holiday, Christmas! Like I have said before, any reason is a reason to dress up, including the last school day of the year 2010 and Christmas. I had to make this outfit fabulous. I went with a black and cream floral abstract print satin high waist pencil skirt. Quite a description I know, but it still does this fabulous number no justice. I wore it with black tights and black heels and for my top, I kept it basic with a solid black round neck 3/4th sleeve shirt, with poofy sleeves. I am just in love with poofy sleeves! I wanted to add some color to the ensemble but I did not want to take away from the skirt so I went with a solid maroon scarf. As for jewelry, diamond studs, and my Nana's emerald ring. Fabulous. Until next year friends!

I Need a Blaze

We did not go to school Thursday or Friday because of the weather, so no, I have not missed any posts. Tomorrow's high is around 47, and I honestly cannot wait for a little warmth. We do not even have heat in our school yet. Insanity, the bad kind. Today I wanted to pick out an outfit that was Christmasy but still classy. I figured I would end up wearing a dress tomorrow so I went with my red wool 3/4th sleeve one button blazer today. I wanted it to stand out, so I wore it with dark skinnies, black booties, black ruffle neck top, and a silver scarf. I went with big silver hoops and a silver bracelet. So classy! Half a day tomorrow, then it is Christmas break!

Not so Lucky Seven

This morning I had planned on wear a cute sweater dress, until I found out it was seven degrees outside! Jeans would not keep me warm in seven degrees, so I had to sit my tights and dress to the side. Now, I shall warn, this is not my cutest outfit. It consisted of, skinny jeans, over the knee boots, red thermal long sleeve shirt, black fleece scarf, black hoodie, which stayed on most of the day,  and I resorted to my big winter coat. I just do not handle winter weather too well. I am not excited about this outfit, so I am cutting it short. They are calling for snow tomorrow, so there may be no post for Thursday.

That's Princess to You

This past weekend I went Christmas shopping with my mom and I found this shirt. It was love a first sight. The thing is, I was in love with it when I only saw the sleeve! I saw some unusual rousching creating a puffy sleeve look. It has a Renaissance look to it, as my boyfriend says. No matter the look, i had to have it. The shirt is a nice earthy forest green color with a slight v neck. I wore the shirt with wide jeans, rolled up, cognac boots, bomber jacket, and a green, blue, blend scarf. I was just so in love with my sleeves I did not want to wear my jacket, so I ended up wearing my scarf from 7:30am to 9:30pm. That's 14 hours, but who's counting right. Because of the way the scarf is made it has to stay wrapped pretty close to the neck and chest to wear it. Well I got home from shopping with my dad when I noticed my chest was a little broke out. Turns out I had wore my scarf for so long that it had began to irritate my chest. What a nightmare! But never fear, I will be wearing a scarf tomorrow, just not for as long!

Red Suede Pants are the New Blue Suede Shoes

With only seven days remaining until Christmas break, I wanted to finish out with some major outfits. So Sunday night I went through my closet and picked out pieces that are my favorite wintertime wear. I chose seven different major articles that scream Christmas or winter. Having themes to your outfits make them so much easier to pick out. However themes does not mean a vest for every holiday! Monday and Tuesday of this week are supposed to be the coldest days. I decided to go with my red suede skinny pants for Monday. They are insane. When I first saw them I was not too sure about them, then I tried them on and fell in love! I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit pretty basic so I went with a black sweater, gray scarf, and black scrunch booties. What else says Christmas like red pants you know?

Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

This Friday we had a big basketball game. The theme was ugly Christmas sweaters. Well, I did not want to go too tacky for school. So, I went with dark wide jeans, black scoop neck shirt, cream, black sequin trim cardigan, Burberry scarf, black booties, and a giant red bow! Insanity, I know. I am just so in love with that bow. It is so over the top, and just set off my outfit. Now for the tacky student section outfit. Total red sequin dress, black tights, over the knee boots, leather over sized cardigan, belted with a silver sequin belt, red feather gloves. This was serious, as was the domination by the basketball team. Half time involved a conga line, my idea! I just love winter sports!

Boards Night

This Thursday was Boards Night. We presented our projects that we have spent endless hours on, tonight. After school I would be running around getting everything set up so I wanted to make sure and wear something I could move in. I went with skinny jeans, cognac embroidered boots, a cream shirt, a scarf with a big navy flower on it, and I ended up wearing my bomber jacket most of the day. I got everything set up then it was time to get ready for the presentation. I wanted to make sure and look professional. I was not going to wear the same thing I wore for homecoming, but in the end it was still pretty similar. I wore my red blazer, a black pencil skirt, black ribbed tights, black heels, and a black camisole underneath my blazer. I went with pearl and ruby jewelry. Classic!

Senior Moment

Well, I have waited too long. I cannot remember what I wore Wednesday for the life of me. Maybe it will come to me later and I will edit this post. I do remember what I wore to the basketball game where the theme was Southmont attire. That means, country attire. I went with skinny jeans, an orange plaid shirt, and black cowboy boots. Our theme worked, and we won the game! I am keeping this one short so I will not forget Thursday and Friday!

I tried to make Tuesday's outfit a little better that Monday's, I guess I was just ill about how cold it was. This Tuesday I went with over the knee boots! I have only wore them one other time this year, and they surprise me on how warm they are. I wore these black suede boots with basic skinny jeans, a black tee, under a blue long cardigan, with a checked blue white and black scarf. This morning it was still freezing so I went with my blue pea coat. I felt very cozy in this outfit! My over the knee boots can my folded down to just regular boots, but I think they kind of look like pirate boots, so I normally do not wear them like that.  Over the knee boots are a fabulous item to be on anyone's list this Holiday season.

In the Freezing State

I am not a friend of cold weather. One, it's is just cold, everywhere you go, and it takes forever to get warm again; Two, my hair stays staticy non stop; and Three I have to make sure I am ready early enough to have time for me or my brother to start the car to warm up. So on this freezing Monday, I went with warm over cute, ek. I wore a long sleeve charcoal v neck basic tee, a coral to pink fade scarf, a long sleeve black cardigan, and a black crop pea coat. I wore this with dark wide jeans (over long johns) wool socks (my feet still got cold) and black booties. On the way to school I wore my black leather and cashmere gloves and over sized gray beanie. It is not supposed to warm up until Friday, so no promises on how to rate my coming outfits.

Seeing Stripes

When I picked out my outfit this morning I did not think that I had already worn stripes once this week. It seems like a lot of times I get in the zone for a certain something with my outfits like wearing blue everyday or wearing really out of the box pieces or stripes! I am still not feeling to well today, so I went with wide jeans, a black tee under a navy and white button cardigan, black flats, and a black fleece scarf. Not having Spartan Fridays is making picking out my outfits much harder than I expected. Thank goodness we will start having Spartan days for basketball games though. Hopefully I will get to feeling better over the weekend and put a little more effort into my outfits.

A Shimmery Presentation

Thursday I had to present my Graduation Project on yoga to my English class. I still was not feeling to well, but if I did not go and present then I fail, so I did not really have a choice. We get graded on what we wear. The outfit is supposed to be professional and classy. I knew this portion of the presentation would be a breeze. I went with silver shimmery turtleneck tucked into a basic black pencil skirt, a must for every woman's closet, with black hose, and red heels for a pop! Insanity. I also wore a black velvet scarf. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail so it would not have to worry about messing with my hair. I was going to wear my Versace silver and black glasses; but I got nervous right before I presented and I forgot to put them on. But I got an awesome grade so no biggy. Now I have to find an even better outfit for when I present in front of the judges, because there is no way I am wearing the same thing.

Take a Sick Day

Wednesday I woke up and had no voice. My nose was running, and I have yet to catch it, I was sneezing every five minutes, ect. There was no way I was going to make it to first period. So I laid back down for a few more hours and forced myself to go in to second. At this point, what I was wearing was my last concern, I just knew it was freezing outside, so I wanted something warm and comfortable. I went with a basic pair of jeans, a gray long sleeve half button up tee under a navy oxford hoodie under a cream down vest with a fur hood. I also wore a scarf. This is definitely my most casual outfit, but hey, every now and then we all take sick days.

Let's Talk Denim

Today I had to do my Graduation Project speech with my advisor. I planned to wear this cute pencil skirt, but I am also presenting on Thursday and I was definitely wear it then. So last minute I changed my outfit, nothing knew. I went with the same dress I wore in A Simple Day Six, just winterized. I wore the denim shirt dress with a wide black leather belt, black tights, and black heels. At the end of the day I found out I had a run in my tights! I was mad, but only one person noticed so I guess it is not to major. I went with a silver scarf and my blue pea coat. That coat is one of my most worn items in the winter with my more dressy outfits. It is actually a really odd color blue, but it matches more than you would ever expect. For jewelry I went with silver hoops and a white gold and sapphire ring. I feel like this outfit had a lot more potential, but then again I was rushed no other. The fab week continues!

Madison Broadway

Striped Sweater

This morning I figured I would end up with a rushed, norm, outfit. Until I remembered a sweater I have not worn in quite a while. My grandpa actually picked it out for me one year for Christmas. He said it has a Canadian look, what ever that means. I love him. It has wide gray and cream stripes with blue accents. It is cut in a deep v so I wore a blue lace camisole underneath. I wore it with dark, wide jeans, black booties, and a black scarf. Horizontal stripes are very risky because they can make you look wider. However, if they are wore with the right pieces then they do not create that effect. Wearing a scarf not tied gives an elongated look, so the wide stripes are no biggie. This morning it was chilly so I went with my blue pea coat. This could be the beginning of a cute week!

Bloody Disaster

This year I am finally old enough to give blood. Saving lives is a great thing, so I know if I am able to donate blood then that is something I will absolutely do. I signed up and even picked out my outfit around giving blood. I was wide jeans, navy, red, and cream design shirt, a cream scarf and red pointed toe kitten heels. I loved my outfit and I was so excited all day about giving blood. Well I get there and before you give blood you have to anwser about a million questions. Well I was on question three when I found out I did not weigh enough to give. If you are 5'3'' you have to weigh at least 124 pounds. I was so disappointed for the rest of the day. Giving blood is such a good cause and I felt it would be my service to the community to give blood. Maybe next time. if you would like to find out more about giving blood, contact The American Red Cross.

These Boots are made for Walking

So I am about a week behind. Thank goodness I only have two blogs. I have been going full speed since Monday though, so that is why it has taken me forever to get this blog posted. I had a pretty long weekend so Monday I wanted to keep things pretty easy. I went with jeggings, a white v neck, a long sleeved light blue cardigan, and cognac leather embroidered boots. I would honestly wear these boots everyday. They are so comfortable and cute, I just love them. Steve Madden Women's Inka Knee-High Bootsare an example of the type of boots that every woman should have in her closet.

A Rushed Embellishment

This morning I wanted to wear something cute, but I did not have much time. I went with a pair of wide jeans, what else, and a button down royal blue shirt layered over a gold embellished tank. I really have not realized how much royal blue I own until I start writing about it. But I wore my black heels and a black velvet embellished scarf. Diamond earrings, vintage gold watch, and fresh water pearls. It was a pretty simple outfit, but still considered fashion forward in my school. I have a lot to do this weekend, so I will have to make my post short, and there will only be two posts next week because of the Holidays!

Floral Festivities

This Thursday was my boyfriend's birthday, and even though I did not get to see him I still wanted to wear something cute! You know any reason to dress up. I did not go crazy dressed up, just cute. Well I decided to still go with my wide jeans, but I wore my navy heels, and a button down, navy royal and light blue, floral tunic. I went with a silver scarf and sapphire jewelry. I just love this outfit. I wore my favorite but most uncomfortable pair of jeans, they are super tight and have absolutely no give until knee level where they flare out majorly. Yes majorly. I always get compliments when I wear these jeans and I really love them, I just cannot cross my legs when I wear them. They get worn only on special occasions. There is no Spartan Friday tomorrow, so I will get to completely pick out my Friday outfit. I have to say, I am not excited about it.

Plaid Panoramic

Today we had our senior panoramic photo made. We were all supposed to wear our senior tuxedo t shirts if we had one. So i decided to wear that like most other people. I still wanted something a little different that would make me pop and say hey that's Madison Broadway. I decided to go with my red plain scarf. Nothing says me like a scarf, especially when we are all supposed to be in black. I always have to be the different one, but I think that is okay. Pictures should show who you are as a person. I finished my outfit with a pair of rock republic jeans, black flats with a bow, and silver jewelry. I have had some extremely casual outfits this week, but tomorrow is my boyfriends birthday, so maybe I will spice it up a little.

No Fail Uniform

I think everybody kind of has their own uniform even if they do not know it. It is those outfits they go to when nothing else seems to be working or when they just do not feel like putting something extravagant together, and for some, the jeans, tennis shoe, and t shirt outfit they wear almost everyday. For me I think it is my wide jeans, with my black heels, a basic tee, a cardigan, and a scarf. Sometimes I may add to it, other days simplify it even more. This is the type of outfit I feel most confident in and I think I find my self wearing this types of outfits more than I realize. Today I went with wide jeans, black heels, a white v neck, a royal blue over sized cardigan, and a gray scarf. It was a rainy day, so I wore my trench coat when I was outside. See, you just cannot go wrong with certain outfits. The best thing is, they are some of the most comfortable outfits you own whether you know it or not because they are the ones you feel confident in.

May Peace be with You

So this Monday I was really dragging. I had a pretty busy weekend, not to mention 15 of my weekend hours were spent on my Graduation Project board. I decided to go with a pretty casual outfit. I wore a Let Peace In t shirt with a big peace sign on the front, basic jeans, a coral scarf for color, and my Toms. There really was not anything fabulous about this outfit, but it was just me. Sometimes I feel like the casual side of my wardrobe gets neglected; it has to be appreciated sometimes, and this week is feeling like the perfect week for it. I love my Toms, they are so comfortable and for such a good cause. For anybody that does not know, when you buy a pair of Toms, a child also gets a pair. You can find out more at http://www.toms.com/.

Final Friday

This Friday was our final Spartan Football Friday. We were off to the playoffs and everybody was supposed to wear Spartan colors or t shirts. I decided to go with my Spartan Football t shirt, since it would be my last opportunity to wear it. I wore that t shirt with a gray Members Only jacket, basic jeans, black flats, and of course a red plaid scarf. It seems like I never have anything to wear with this scarf but it really put together this outfit. It was sad to think that I would never again be dressing up to support the Spartan football team and another chapter in my life was closing. When I think of high school I think of Friday night football games, and even though it was way to cold for me to go, I just cannot get over the fact that this Friday there will be nothing to dress up for. Basketball will not get here soon enough.

Madison Broadway

Hearty Hosiery

If I can find a reason to dress up then I will. Veterans day was a good enough reason for me. We did not go to school on Veterans Day, so I dressed up a little Wednesday. I also just got a new pair of navy heels from shoedazzle.com, so I had to find a fabulous outfit to wear with them. I went with a silk blue, green, and navy print skirt, worn at the high waist, hits right above the knee, a black sweater, black hose with hearts in a line going down the back, so cute, and my new navy heels. I am not the type of person that says you cannot wear black and navy, I think it would be tons worse if you wore navy, with another navy that says, yeah I tried to match it, while everybody can clearly see that it does not match. I have never really had the perfect pair of shoes to wear with this skirt, so I was so excited when they showed up in the mail! I went with silver jewelry. This was just a classy outfit and I was actually really happy with it. One thing I wish I would have thought about was that I went to the elementary school this day and so it was not the best outfit to be sitting in the floor in.

Vintage Spirit

This weekend my Cody gave me an old wrestling warm up jacket. It is from I do not know when but I am in love with it. When he gave it to be he said "look, it's vintage!" and I thought I would die. Not because I liked the jacket so much but because the words vintage came out of his mouth. The jacket is red with SPARTANS embroidered across the chest in black. It has gray and red striped cuffs and collar. It also zips up. I wore wide jeans and black heels, a gray and black striped shirt that buttons half way down, and a black scarf. I went with big silver earrings and and silver ring. I am someone that loves to show school spirit, but in a different way. Normally when I wear something from my school there are at least five other people in the same t shirt and it gets to me. I got a ton of compliments and questions about the jacket and I love that I know nobody else will have it!

Just the Norm

This morning I wanted to bring something out from the depths of my closet, when I spotted my orange plaid flannel shirt. There was nothing too special about this outfit. Flannel are not anything too special to me. A ton of people wear it so this is just a pretty plain outfit to me. I went with basic jeans and brown moccasins. Gold jewelry and my bomber jacket when it felt thirty below this morning.Oh and we cannot forget the black scarf. I do not really have much to say about this outfit. I mean I really like the few flannel shirts I have. They definitely keep me warm with being super bulky. And I think its funny that whether you are a lumberjack or a band kid or someone like myself you can all shop at the place or section.

Support our Seniors

One more Spartan Friday and it is Senior Night. Tonight at the football game we support our senior football players. This was their last game at Spartan Community Stadium, and it was a pretty emotional night for the players, fans, and parents. It was freezing cold and raining at the game but many people still came out to the game. Each class has their own color at school: freshmen have white, sophomores have gray, juniors have red, and the seniors have black. Everybody what supposed to wear black today to show support. I went with a silver accented black v neck with a gray cardigan and a black scarf. Wide leg dark jeans, and black heels. I wore something much warmer to the game. I could not believe it would be my last home football game as a student, but it was so cold I could only bear it for about thirty minutes before I was home in a warm shower. It was a good way to sum up our season with a 50 to 20 win. And we are off to the playoffs!

Is it the Pink, or the Scarf?

I used to never be a huge fan of pink. It just seemed really outdated to me in some way. Last week I wore more pink than I have in my entire senior year I believe. I also wore pink Tuesday and this Thursday. I do not know what has gotten into me, I guess I have been introduced into the world of pink, maybe I am in love, but it will probably just be another one of my fads. Not to mention I do not think I have anything pink left in my wardrobe I have not worn. Anyways. I went with a white v neck with a short sleeve black cardigan over it, wide jeans, black heels, and a huge pink scarf. I actually found the scarf in my mom's drawer. She is not a big fan of scarves so I told her I would be happy to take it off her hands, along with two other scarves I found with it. I am not lying when I say I am a scarf fanatic. I was probably just excited to wear a new scarf rather than the pink! This was a pretty simple outfit, but anytime I wear something new I think it is amazing!

An Arctic Autumn

I believe North Carolina has the strangest weather. Last week we were in the 80's. This week it is snowing in the more northern areas. Next week it is supposed to warm back to the 60s and 70s. This crazy weather sometimes makes me aggravated with my outfit. It is freezing cold in the morning, and then 75 degrees in the afternoon, and I love layers, but I hate carrying them around. This Wednesday we had our coldest day yet, and it was raining. I went with a v neck gray sweater with an arctic print, a green scarf, (the same color green accented in my sweater,) light skinny jeans, brown leather boots with a similar print as my sweater, leather bomber jacket, and before school started an over sized beanie. This outfit definitely kept me warm and dry. Everything went together but I do not think it was to 'matchy matchy'. It all just flowed together. Let's see what kind of crazy weather Thursday has in store for us...

An Over Sized Drag

So this morning I woke up late. I seem to always be late, but this morning I was really late. I was also tired of pulling hair up in ponytails so I was determined to run the straightener through it. Today I had to go with something that qualifies as, decent. Definitely not a fav but not horrible, but mediocre. I wore a basic pair of jeans, with a plain white v neck, and a hot pink over sized cardigan over it. I went with black flats and a black scarf. I did have my toms on but i felt they would make my outfit too too casual. It was probably our coldest day so far so my trench was absolutely necessary for when I went outside. I am not excited for this cold weather, but then again I would probably have to repeat outfits if the weather did not change before too long. And that just cannot happen. I went with my uniform jewelry, diamond studs and vintage watch. I really did not have time for anything else. Tomorrow I want to make an attempt for a cute outfit I got these new tights and if I wait much longer it is going to be way too cold to even think about wearing tights. Not to mention this is going to be a hectic couple of days so I need to plan my outfits the night before. Consequently, hopefully all my outfits will be a drag like this one.

The Scarf

Today I felt like it was cool enough to bring out the Burberry scarf. I went to England and France a few years ago when I was 11. I had owned scarves before but never really wore them, then I got that scarf. Now I have approximatively 40 scarves and I would not hesitate to buy another one. If you are an active reader or just see me every day then you will notice it is rare to see me without a scarf, even in the summer. It is all thanks to my Burberry scarf. Today I wore wide leg dark jeans, black heels, a black v neck sweater, and my Burberry scarf. This morning I wore my brown leather bomber jacket, it was freezing. I am not a black and brown oh my girl, I actually really like them together. So critic me if you would like I do not mind. My pet peeve is when two browns do not match, especially, if it looks like there was an attempt for them to match, but you can tell whoever was just like eh that is good enough. Good enough does not cut it. If you are going to wear two colors of brown, please make sure they are on the opposite ends of the brown spectrum, that is okay. Not a chocolate brown and a cherry brown, no no no. Okay, I am over that. So, almost no outfit is complete without a scarf and do not mix your browns are my two pointers, and two major ones, if you want my styling advice.

Just Pinky

Spartan Friday and we are all in pink! Well pink is by no means my favorite color, I had to buy a shirt just for today, but it is pretty. I have to say I thought our school looked too cute all in pink, even the boys. I went with an extremely casual outfit today, but then again I did not have many options. I went with a pink silver striped wide neck long sleeve tee and basic jeans. I wore my pink jelly shoes also. I continued wearing my pink sapphires and silver earrings. I also wore a silver scarf. a cropped black wool pea coat when it was cool this morning. This has to be my favorite casual outfit so far, I think the pink is growing on me!

Madison Broadway

Pink Sapphires? Yes, please.

Once again behind on my blog. But what can I say, I am a busy girl. I do not have much pink in my wardrobe so I had to go with blue today. I did buy a pink shirt for Friday. I wanted to wait and wear it then because Friday the whole school is going all out in pink. This Thursday I wore a royal blue v neck long shirt. It is rusched at the waist and has white embroidery around the edges. I wore a white camisole under it and a black fringe scarf. I went with dark wash wide leg jeans and black heels. I fancied it up a bit with white gold and sapphire jewelry. I did wear my pink sapphire ring so I could say I was supporting breast cancer awareness the best I could. I did not believe my dad when he brought this ring home because I though sapphires are always supposed to be blue, well, not so.  It was cool outside this morning so I wore my brown trench coat. This is a pretty simple outfit but you really cannot go wrong with wide jeans and anything it seems.

Protect in Pink

This week at school we are really pushing for breast cancer awareness. We are trying to get people to wear pink all days possible while we make more people aware of breast cancer in the fight to save the tatas. I do not have much pink in my wardrobe, but I know I will wear what I can. Today I went with dark wash flare jeans, a black scoop neck short sleeve sweater over a light pink lacy camisole. I wore black peep toe heels and a black embroidered scarf. I felt like I should keep it classy so I went with diamond stud earrings, and major pick ice ring, vintage watch, and fresh water pearls. I really like this outfit, it had just the right touch of pink, and I feel like it is very important to support any cause that benefits others and maybe even yourself in the long run.

Metallic Military

We had a workday Monday, so there is not a post for that day. I like to mix rustic colors with feminine aspects to outfits so I went with an army green flowy shirt with ruffle sleeves and metallic beading around the neck, flare jeans, a silver scarf, bronze moccasins, and my copper bracelet. Normally I do not like to mix golds and silvers, but in my opinion, rustic bronzes and grays really complement each other. The aged metallic and the army green stay in the same family, but with with ruffles and beading everything is lightened up a bit. It was rainy and yucky and humid outside, so this morning I wore my trench coat. It stayed with my classic military theme.

Red with Spirit

Another Spartan Friday! And Pep Club Pictures. Well for the Spartan Friday we were supposed to wear camo as we hunt the eagles. Well for starters I do not have any camo and we were supposed to wear red or black for pep club pictures. I went with red. I wore my red wool blazer with a back tank top under it, a pair of dark flare jeans and black heels. This was just another classic outfit. I do not think you can ever go wrong with a blazer, flare jeans, and heels. For accessories I wore a silver scarf and silver jewelry. I love showing spirit while knowing my outfit is fabulous. By the end of the day I did get a little warm in the wool blazer, but no biggy. All for the love of fashion.

Not-so-Grandma Sweater

I am like five days behind, I know. I have just been busy and my laptop's WiFi card is broke or something. So I am doing Thursday's blog today. Thursday I went with a light blue, black, and cream floral sweater. It is 3/4ths length sleeves button down v neck with a little gathering at the shoulders for volume. When I was actually buying the sweater an elderly lady come up and was looking at the same one, so I was iffy to buy it. I went with the risk, like I usually do, and it is one of my favorite sweaters. It comes a little low so I wore a black lacy camisole underneath, that is how I made it look right for my age. I wore it with a pair of dark wash boot cut jeans, and my newest black flats. I also wore a black embroidered scarf with fringe. I feel like this look had a timeless look and maybe I will wear it when I have aged.

Peaceful Purple

Today is October 20, 2010 and there was a message going around to wear purple today in respect for the six suicides committed because of homophobic abuse. I do not feel like anybody should have a reason to kill themselves and I know that if any of my many gay friends, especially Christian, did this I would be devastated. People should be able to be who they are without worrying about being judged or bullied. This is a fashion blog so I am going to stop there. Today in honor of these boys I wore a purple crow neck tunic with fringe coming off the neck. It is a little hard to describe but it is cute. I wore it with black skinny jeans tucked in over the knew black suede boots. I also wore a silver scarf because it just needed a little something more. I also wore silver jewelry and pulled my hair back in a bun. I thought about wearing an over sized leather cardigan with it, but I thought it would just be too much black. I probably would have worn it if I needed a quick change for a night outfit. One more note, not to be stereotypical, but some of the greatest fashion people out there are gay, who knows what we would be wearing if everybody was straight.

I'd Rather Go Naked

Over the weekend I got an addition to my wardrobe I was so excited about I could not stand it. It was a warmer day, but I would not be outside much anyways. I went with a cream faux fur crop vest today. Major, I know. I paired it with dark wash wide leg jeans, and a sea green 3/4th sleeve shirt with cream polka dots and basic black heels. I dressed it up with a fresh water pearl bracelet and diamond studs. I am in love with this outfit. Some chose to make fun of me, but all those who are in touch with the fashion world know this works. Right now there is a campaign against wearing real fur launched by PETA called I'd rather go naked than wear fur. It protests over the killing of animals for fur because they hurt so much in the process. I am not a huge PETA person and definitely not a vegetarian but this is one thing I will support. It is not like it looks that much different anyways. You can find out more at http://www.peta.org/.

Ren Fest Oops

So I forgot to do Thursday's blog for last week... Oops. We went to the Renassiance Festival on a field trip and it was utter chaos. First it is pouring down rain. Everything is outside. Second I cannot find my rainboots. Third when it was time to come home our bus would not start. Then I forget to do my blog. I was able to borrow my cousins rainboots, I really did not want to dirty up any flats or anything. I wore a pair of skinny jeans with the sparkly rainboots and my ren fest 'say hi to the bunny' tee, a saying from my favorite jugglers, the london broil. An oversized gray beanie, and gray trench. The most water proof jacket I own. It was not my cutest outfit but it is raining and I am going to be outside all day, what can you expect.

Finding the Right Cord

I wanted to bring out something new from my wardrobe to start the week off so I decided on a pair of forest green boot cut corduroys. I love these pants, they are so comfortable and cozy. I wore them with a charcoal gray v neck, silver scarf, and scrunch black booties. Monday morning it was cool so I wore a cropped wool double breasted coat. I wore my Nana's emerald ring and a vintage watch. I think it is funny that I love corduroy pants now and I remember when my mom would try and put them on me when I was young and I thought they were the wrost things ever made. They really were pretty bad then when they gathered at the top and had no tailoring whatsoever. Two sayings I think fashion lives by is everything repeats itself and we learn from our mistakes. When certain styles come back around, there are always some things that stay the same about the peice but other major improvments that fit our modernized lives. And no matter what fashion just keeps getting better and better.

Neon Friday

It is another Spartan Friday and we are wearing neon as we Stun the Salisbury Hornets. Whoa whoa whoa, neon? Who owns neon, not I. I had no idea how i would show my spirit this Friday until I remembered my one pair of neon pink socks. Well Friday morning I completely forgot it was Friday and I decided on a half sleeve blue sweater, imagine that, with a crow neck, wide jeans and black heels. At the last minute I remembered my neon socks. And I also wore my dad's spartan pride button. I went with silver jewelry. For the game I knew it would be practically below zero, well like 40 F, so I wanted to put on something warmer. I went with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans, a cream sweater, burgundy scarf and gloves, over sized multicolored beanie, brown leather multicolored embroidered boots, and my brown leather bomber jacket. I love love loved my outfit to the game and it will probably be in a future blog but I just had to write about it now. And I must say, Tori, Kara, Tara, and Hayley. you were all looking just precious as well. Love Y'all.

Feeling the Blues

I went with blue two days in a row. I did not even mean too. This is just something about bright blues that I love. I wore a button down loose scoop neck blue shirt layered over a black lacy camisole, dark wash wide leg jeans, black peep toe heels, and silver jewelry. This outfit had practically the same color scheme as yesterday's however I feel like they were nothing alike. Yet still fit my personality. That is the one thing I love about fashion, they are so many different ways you can go with it and continue being yourself. And let's face, people do make judgments before they talk to you or get to know you on the inside, no matter how much it is lectured not to do it. If I went to a school that had a uniform I do not know what I would do. Probably be an accessory obsessed maniac, like I am already not. Anyways, the moral of my blog is, be yourself, do not waste away opportunities to go crazy with an outfit or take risks, when you a old and wrinkly you may not have those opportunities.

The Royal Wear Silver

This morning I had a million and a half things to get together, camera, project, lunch, pocketbook, ect. I had once again not thought about what I was going to wear, and checking the temperature was the last thing I was worried about. I ended up wearing a pair of straight jeans, a royal blue basic v neck, with a silver scarf, a black members only jacket this morning, and silver gladiators. Who knew it would reach the upper 80s in October and break a record. Not me. But it did. After school I thought I would die. Wide jeans let some air in, straight jeans do not. Another reason I do not often wear them. I really did like this outfit though, especially to be so simple. Sometimes, you just have to take those leisure days. It is looking like they will be my whole week.  Oh I also wore silver jewelry. That could have been an easy guess though. I am not one to be know to mix my metals. Well I still have a million things to do so yes another short one.

Mustard Monday

It is the start of a new week, and hopefully a less stressful one. However it is not looking hopeful. I did not get my blog posted yesterday because I was up late finishing a project. Yuck. We are having a warm week so I did not want to wear anything I would get too hot in. I went with a thin button up mustard top layered over a faded green tank, with a thin gray braided belt. I wore a pair of basic jeans with gray embellish sandals. It was a pretty simple outfit, but I was on a time crunch. I think mustard is a risky color to go with, but it can definitely be pulled off with the right complementary colors and accessories. I also wore diamond studs and my copper bracelet. I have to admit, in an attempt for a cool outfit, I failed. I changed as soon as I got home. I am going to have cut this blog short so I can write today's about our record breaking temperature!

Bruise the Bulldogs

Spartan Friday! I thought it would never come, I think I had at least one test every single day this week. This Friday we traveled to Thomasville High School to Bruise the Bulldogs. We were supposed to wear black and blue. I went with a pretty casual outfit today, I was just so ready for this week to be done with. I wore a pair of basic dark wash boot cut jeans, a black scoop neck tee and a half sleeve over sized royal blue cardigan. I wore a silver and black braided belt around my shirt to accentuate the waist. It was pretty warm today so I just wore black sandals. I also dressed it up some with silver and sapphire jewelry and black and silver earrings. For the game it was cold and I would be on the field taking pictures for yearbook so I wore black flats and a black short double breasted wool coat. I found the coat brand new at a little consignment store in China Grove and I have to say it is another one of those pieces that are ideal for any wardrobe. Hopefully next week will be a better one.

Green Jeans

Last night I had to stay with my grandpa to help him out if he needed anything. Before I went to his house I had to make sure I had my outfit all figured out since I would not have my whole closet. I wanted to keep it pretty simple so I would not have to worry about any mishaps. I went with a pair of faded forest green wide leg jeans and a small floral print shirt. It was a purple orange and green print on a black background. It has wide sleeves and four little buttons. I tucked my shirt in and wore a black scarf with it. I also wore black embellished kitten heels. For jewelry I wore purple dangle earrings. The only problem I had with this outfit was that the shoes were a little slick so I had to be cautious when I was walking down a hill. I think kitten heels are perfect when you know you are going to be walking a lot, but you still want to look dressed up or if a pair of pants are a tiny bit too long for flats but too short for heels, like my green ones. Tomorrow is another Spartan Friday and we are wearing black and blue as we bruise the bulldogs!

The Bomb

It was absolutely freezing this morning. I am pretty sure there was frost on my window.I knew this called for a warm, but fabulous coming out for my fossil brown leather bomber jacket. I could not be more excited to wear it. That jacket is probably one of my favorites if not my favorite piece in my closet. Now for the rest of my outfit. I wore another pair of dark wash wide leg jeans rolled up. When I say I can never get enough of them I mean it, however I did go with Minetonka moccasins today. So comfortable, also something I could live in! Then up top I wore a pale pink poncho shirt with beads at the neck of it. I felt like I needed a dark color to go with my shirt so I also wore a burgundy scarf, which complemented the pale pink nicely. I wore an over sized beanie until I got inside so that my ears would not freeze and fall off. I am a day behind I am going to have to cut it short, but I love love this outfit and I think it gave me some good luck while I was learning to drive stick in my dad's mini!

Plum Perfect

This morning was crazy! I got up thirty minutes late. I do not recall ever being woke up at 6:30 to begin with. Who knows. Not to mention I had absolutely no idea what I was going to wear. I was seriously sprinting around the house in an attempt to be leaving at 7:30. When I am in rushed situations like this I normally cheat a little bit and do one of my biggest fashion secrets, wear an outfit I wore on the weekend that no body saw but my family, or test out an outfit on the weekend before you are at school where nothing can be done to fix something that goes wrong. Today I went with my first option. It was the same basic outfit, just with different jeans and t shirt. I wore dark wash denim wide leg jeans, a basic charcoal v neck, covered with a wide 3/4 sleeve plum wide knit cardigan, a navy, green, and plum scarf, complete with a big navy flower, and black heels. Almost anytime I wear wide leg jeans I wear heels, one style fav I got from Rachel Zoe. At first I was concerned about not being able to see my shoes because my jeans were so wide, but now I do not even think about. It really is not a big deal, and if they are some fabulous shoes, wear them when you will be sitting a lot. I also wore gold jewelery. This afternoon we went car shopping and I have to say I was so impressed by our salesman, Anthony's outfit I was ready to buy it before he started talking, well I was also already in love with the car when I saw it from the road. Just a little tid bit for any car salesmen out there reading, dress nice because it does matter!

Falling for Autumn

This weekend I attended the Autumn Jubilee at Dan Nicholas Park. During the fall there are about three to five festivals I try to go to, and they all really put me and a fall mood. The Autumn Jubilee was my first festival so it really hit me strong, especially with the fresh cool weather coming in. The high was around 70 F. I love warm earthy colors for the autumn season, like forest greens, warm maroons, and deep plums. When I was laying down Sunday night thinking about what I could wear to school Monday I knew it would be something that would scream Fall. Then I thought of the perfect forest green sweater dress. Normally I would wait a little longer until I pulled this piece from the depths of my closet, but I just could not resist this morning. The sweater dress is sleeveless and it has four huge bronze buttons on the chest. I wore a black short sleeve basic tee under it, black tights, it was about 50 this morning, and black peep toe heels. I wore my favorite trench I wrote about in a previous blog, http://stylishsenior.blogspot.com/2010/09/in-trenches-on-thursday.html. As far as accessories go I paired the bronze buttons with a bronze cuff, small gold hoops, and my Nana's emerald and diamond ring. In the past I remember having trouble getting the sweater dress styled right but I can honestly say it was a breeze this morning. Maybe I was just getting the right vibes from mother nature today.

Going All Out

Day 5 of Homecoming Week and it is Friday! We do not have an actual theme other than class color. The Senior's class color is black. Our class t-shirts this year are Tuxedo t-shirts. Then all of our names are on the back in a huge 11 and Stay Classy Central Davidson at the bottom. I think the tuxedo t-shirts were a creative idea and I was happy with the shirts. I think they are the best one's our class has come up with. Even though it is just class color, I still go all out more than normal Spartan Fridays. This Friday I wore my tuxedo t shirt tucked into a gray high waist skirt. A silver sequin belt, a leatherish oversize blazer I got at a vintage shop I am in love with, red pointed kitten heels for a pop, and silver jewelry. The tuxedo shirt is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to style an outfit around but I was really happy with how it all turned out. I would definitely say my tuxedo shirt outfit looked better than with just blue jeans shorts or red soffies. Gross. When we did the pep rally we have about 7 different games and I did changed into white shorts for that. Did not want to flash anybody. For the Homecoming game I wore the suit I wrote about in last Friday's blog, Suits Me http://stylishsenior.blogspot.com/2010/09/suits-me.html. I was worried that my heels were going to sink into the field, but thankfully they did not. I have to say this is by fay the best Homecoming ever, and I love that I know I looked great taking part in it.

3 Will Never Die

Day 4 of Homecoming Week and it is Alternate Personality Day. Well I knew I would not be wearing anything cute, so I went with the most ridiculous thing I could think of. Actually my dad thought of it. A Dale Earnhardt fan. For those of you who do not know who Dale Earnhardt is, stop reading my blog. Just kidding. Now, prepare your self for an outfit opposite of the reason I write my blog. I wore a pair of Dale Earnhardt pajama pants that had huge 3's all over them, a hat with a huge 3 on it, a vintage, that is right, vintage Dale Earnhardt t-shirt, props to my boyfriend'd dad. And a Dale Earnhardt Jr cooler for character. I wore a pair of plan black keds, and I had a pair of earrings that actually had the same colors as the shirt so I wore them. I cannot say I was excited about how this outfit looked; however, the comfort level was mile high, and I got a lot of people to smile. Which is why I think we dress up for Homecoming Week anyways. Tomorrow is just Class Color Day and we wear our class T- shirts, which are Tuxedo Shirts, probably the hardest thing to style ever, especially for a girl. I can do it! I am so excited!

Carolina is my College

Day 3 of Homecoming. It is College day. There really is not too much you can do with this day unless you are a crazy fan of a college, which I am not. I do however have a few Carolina t-shirts and an Oxford hoodie. I wanted to dress up my Carolina t-shirt because I knew I would be crazy not fashionable tomorrow. Carolina's colors are baby blue, white, and navy. I wore my Carolina Blue t-shirt which has Carolina embroidered in navy on the front. I wore a shrunken navy blazer over it with a silver gray scarf. I wore a pair of basic jeans and silver sequin flats and silver jewelry. I love a fitted blazer to dress up something a little casual. To add a little humor to my post I will tell you about my disaster this morning. It was raining this morning so I was hurrying inside to school. Well my flats did not have very good tread on them so as soon as I stepped onto the slick commons floor I fell and busted my tail. I am pretty sure I will have a major bruise on my hip tomorrow. Not to mention I did not know it was raining until after I had straightened my hair for the one day of the week. I am normally a pretty lazy person when it comes to hair and make up. I have uniform make up and I usually just let my hair do whatever. Tomorrow is Alternate Personality day and I have to say it is my most risky, not fashion forward outfit I will wear all year, but I guess it would not be my alternate personality if it was. I am going to keep it a secret though. It is also the day I am most excited about, as far as dressing up!

Beach Bum? I don't think so.

Day 2 of Homecoming week and the theme was beach bum. Well when I think of the beach, I don't think of a bum. I think of cute bathing suits, wraps, flip flops, and big sun hats. I was not very excited about this day because how are you supposed to look like you are going to the beach and be school appropriate? You got me. Anyways, I worked with what I had. I wore a black tank top with a turquoise wrap as a little skirt, black sandals, black sunglasses and a Wallaroo sun hat. I scrunched my hair so that is would look like it was wet all day and so that it would have those beach waves. I also wore a lei for a little pop. I feel like I did the best I could with my outfit, but I know that I wish the days were a little more creative so we could go above and beyond with what we wear like we have in the past. Tomorrow is College Day so once again nothing too extreme, especially since I am not even a big sporty college person. Oh well, what can you do. Staying positive, it will still be my favorite week I am sure.

Ready to Pose in Neon Bows

It is Homecoming Week! The most loved week of school for most students, and definitely me. Today was Neon and Duct Tape Day. Well, I am not a big fan of neon, never have been, never will be. However I have school spirit, so this one day I could sport it, but I knew I would not be covered in it. I had a dance costume that had a huge lime green bow on the back of the shorts. I took the bow off and pinned it on to a strapless lbd, (little black dress). This dress poofed out at a the bottom but it was tight at the top. I pinned it right on the bust area. We cannot wear strapless tops to school so I wore a hot pink cardigan over it. I also wore black and hot pink stripped tights and a neon orange duct tape bow in my hair. For shoes I went with major patent black heels to keep the drama going. I did bring an extra pair of black flats for back up, I knew I would be in major pain if I wore those all day. It was also rainy all day so that made everything a little yucky. I am pretty happy with my outfit, I do not know how much more classy you can get with neon and duct tape. My brother and his friend made a bomber hat out of duct tape I thought was pretty creative so props to them. Tomorrow is Hawaiian Day and I cannot wait!

Suits Me

Today was Senior Skip Day, so needless to say, I did not go to school. I do not have a outfit to write about for what I wore to school, but we did have our Homecoming Court pictures. For our Homecoming all the girls are supposed to wear suits. There is only so much you can do to a suit right, wrong. I knew I would not be in a black pencil skirt and jacket the minute I found out I was on the Homecoming Court. Our school colors are black white red and silver; therefor, I knew I would stay in that color family. We went to Concord Mills this past weekend to get my ensemble. I ended up wearing A red wool jacket from Banana Republic, and a tweed black and white pencil skirt with pleats on the back bottom. It looks so good when I walk. Underneath the jacket I wore a black lace camisole and I went with paten black heels. I may try to find some black wedges before Homecoming night because I know it will be a little tricky to walk on the field with skinny heels. For jewelry I wore circle of love earrings and necklace in white gold and diamonds, a diamond tennis bracelet, and a vintage flower white gold and diamond ring. That vintage ring is to die for. I cannot wait until Homecoming night I am sure it will be so much fun, especially feeling confident in my 'suit'.

Fairly Fashionable

So, I have to admit. I would not say this is a best dressed outfit. However, it was supporting our Miss Central Davidson, Jessica. The one time I think it is okay to dress in your not so favorite outfit is when you are showing school spirit, which we will see with next week's homecoming 'get ups'. Most of the people who were going to support Jessica and the fair competition made t shirts that had saying like ' ya'll are fools, we got youells' or 'jess is the best' or 'youells rules' etc. Well, mine said 'ya'll a re fools, we got youells'. Turns out, these shirts are not allowed because it puts down other schools and we should be supporting Jessica. At school I did wear that shirt, with blue jean shorts, silver jewelry, and black sandals. When we found out we could not wear these shirts to the fair we all went to a friends house and remade our shirts. My new shirt said 'the family youlles'. It was a read shirt with black writing and a huge silver glitter diamond. I think this shirt was cuter anyways. We all had a ton of fun at the fair queen pageant, even though it was 300 degrees inside the building and no personal space at all. We won last years pageant, but North Davidson won this one. They recruit for everything else and they probably recruited for this too. Oh well, can't win them all and Jessica still did fabulous. Friday is Senior Skip Day; consequently, I won't have a blog about my school outfit. But I will think of something to write about.

Sixties Patterns and Pretty Sparkles

This week has been crawling by like no other. Tomorrow should be Friday. But it's not. So I am not sure what mother nature is thinking but it got up to about 90 degrees today and the day before that and it is supposed to be 93 tomorrow. So today I wanted to be cool when I was outside. I went with a short cotton skirt with purple, coral, orange, and bronze geometric patterns. Very 60s. This print was pretty bust so I decided to go with a more basic top. I wore a charcoal v neck tee. It has a little shimmer to it and it is gathered in the back to be more form fitting. I tucked it in, I am currently obsessed with tucking things in, I feel like if it is not meant to come past your hips, then it should not. I wore basic black flats, my bronze bracelet, and coral hoops, to continue with the 60s trend. This is a very comfortable outfit, as you can probably tell from most of my outfits, comfort is huge for me. Especially when I am going to be sitting at a desk all day. I did have to keep a check on my skirt to make sure it was not riding up or twisting around, but that is really no biggie. Tomorrow is Fair Queen day and we made t shirts. Most of the girls are wear black soffies but I refuse. So we will just have to see what I can come up with!

The Blues

Today I was determined to have a fabulous outfit. I feel like I have been slacking this past week. I wore a pair of jeggings for the first time this weekend and loved them, so I decided I would wear another pair today. I have never really been a fan of skinny jeans, wide jeans and heels are the ones for me, but if I ever wear skinny jeans from now on they will be jeggings. It feels like you are wearing comfortable sweats all day, but no one knows, and you still look super stylish. This is fashion modernization at its best. Not to mention most jeggings are a whole lot cheaper than what you would have to pay for a good pair of skinny jeans. I do have to give kudos to my cousin Courtney for introducing this fashion god masterpiece to me. Now for the rest of the outfit. I paired it with light blue floral shirt-dress (a present from Courtney and Donna, what are the odds) black leather booties and a light silver scarf. I wore silver hoops with a floral embossed design, and a silver sapphire necklace. I am in love with this outfit, it will definitely be a favorite for a long time.

Monday Morning Mayhem

This morning was absolute madness. I think I was running and sweating as soon as I woke up. I had not even thought about what I was going to wear today, had to search for a gps, get as many scarfs and hats together for a skit, eat, and my hair was just doing something crazy. Anyways, I did manage to pull something together. I wore a pair of straight leg jeans, with my toms, a cream sequin embellished tank, and a light blue long sleeved cardigan. It was pretty chilly this morning but by 3:00 pm I was ready to take a swim when it was 90 degrees. I actually changed into a t shirt I had in my bag before I went to my car because I knew I would just stroke out and die if I left that long sleeved cardigan on. I was pretty happy with this outfit to have thrown it together so quickly, but I did lack accessories and jewelry that really put the outfit together. Hopefully tomorrow will be a more peaceful morning.

Friday Football

I will go ahead and warn, this is going to be a short one. Especially since I am two days behind. I have just been bust busy busy. We got our Spartan Football T Shirts Wednesday so I knew I would be wearing it Friday but I wanted to go a little farther than jeans so, I wore that black t shirt with a gray cotton skirt with two big pockets. I wore my silver gladiators and silver jewelry. A pretty simple outfit but then again how far can you take a t shirt. The football game was farther than I wanted to ride or drive so I felt like I should support them more than normal in spirit and we won! A new week is head and it is starting to get cooler and cooler outside so that means new clothes to bring into the light! Love it!

Cody's Casuals

It is day 16 and I woke up late, not to mention had to get stuff together for a dip we had to make in Spanish. Yet I still decided on something a little risky, something I had never worn before. My boyfriend's shorts. They were blue jeans, then he cut them into shorts for I do not know what reason and never wore them. Well I am not a person who likes the girl jeans, in a boyfriend cut. It just seems fake, but that is just me. So I decided to actually wear my boyfriend's clothes. They fit like lose Bermudas and I rolled them up twice just to fit a little better. The one thing that is not a pro about wearing men's pants is that the crotch likes to stick out so a belt is the quick fix to that. I wore a 3/4th sleeve lose v neck red navy and cream shirt from Fossil with them and navy flats. I also wore silver earrings for a little glam. This was a pretty casual outfit for me, but you have to have your bum days every now and then. I think I even saw Rachel Zoe, my idol, in boyfriend jeans once, but of course also heels. Spartan Friday tomorrow! Too bad we are playing almost two hours away.

The President Must Represent

Day Fifteen. Wednesday. Ready for the week to be over, but also excited for the first Environmental Club meeting. Not to mention I am the President, or so I have been told. And then there is some talk about voting, humph, who needs voting, I have already done more than anyone else. Sorry to rant. Anyways, so I felt that I should represent the club. I wore a turquoise romper, we had another warm day, and a floral scarf. The romper is strapless, so I wore a short sleeved one button black cardigan, and my reinvented black and silver gladiators. Silver jewelry, and that is about it. A pretty basic outfit. I call this look the Modern Hippie, kind of an oxymoron, but we can all contradict ourselves at some point. The fabric the romper is made out of is really thin and wrinkles really easily, so if I wear it when I sit down for long periods of time ie. school, then I do not like the way it looks all wrinkled and mess. But I have been told that only people like many look for stuff like that so I have nothing to worry about at Central but it still matters to me. I am on another rant. But the romper is really comfortable it just sucks when you have to go to the bathroom and take it all the way down like a dance leotard. Nevertheless it will not stop me from wearing them. Two days till the weekend, two day too long.

A Floral Fourteenth Day

Day Fourteen, I cannot believe it has only been two weeks. It seems like this year is crawling, but I am sure it will be gone before I know it. I had another rushed morning, so my outfit was nothing crazy but still cute. I wore a cotton floral skirt. But it is not like a springy floral, the background is a dark dark brown and then it has orange green pink purple and blue flowers. It is a little hard to describe but I love it. It sits right on my waist, but not quite high waisted. It has a band at the top, so it sits just right. There is not much blue in the skirt so I wanted to bring that out. I wore a mid sleeved blue sweater, not like a winter sweater, a fall sweater, not too heavy. Just right and heaven hemp beige sandals, super comfortable. I wore my uniform jewelry, gold watch and diamond studs. I wish I would have had a better pair of shoes to wear with this outfit, but my hemp sandals are so comfortable I just could not turn this down. This is a pretty simple outfit but I did have to throw it together. Hopefully tomorrow I will not be so rushed. I just hate in between weather because it is really cool in the morning but 90 degrees in the afternoon. Oh well you cannot fight mother nature.

A Modern Military Monday

Off to a new week, but it is still Monday so I did not put as much thought as normal into my outfit. I went with one of my classic dresses I could wear on any warm day. It was a army green, kahki, and dark brown print. My boyfriend calls it my camo dress, because I hate camoflouge anything. But I have came to terms with it and I call it modern camo. Anyways, I put a belt around the smallest part of my torso, it was the same color brown and made from coconut shells cut into hearts. It was cool this morning so I wore a kahki 3/4 sleeve blazer over it. I wore brown gladiators with round gold studs and gold earrings and watch. I wish I would have had a scarf to wear with this dress, it would have been the perfect touch. Other than that this outfit will continue to be a favorite!

A Fiasco of a Friday

Friday, the best day of the school week right, not this Friday. It started out good, we ignited the knights so we had to wear red or yellow. I had this awesome awesome outfit picked out, had never worn the dress before, made it to my car, realized I forgot my phone, run inside to get it, saw my coffee sitting there grabbed it. I am getting in my car when SPLASH. Coffee all over me. And my outfit. Do I care that it is burning me, no. Do I care that I am going to have to find and totally new outfit in 2 minutes, yes. So I run inside see my red tie-dye, not as tacky as it sounds, screaming Spartans tee shirt, know that is my only option and threw on a white pair of shorts. I wore black sandals, and silver jewelry, ran back to my car and went to school, disgusted with how the morning started. Well I had my normal school day, it went fine, and then is was game time. I put jeans on for the game because it was beginning to get a little cool. I was down on the sidelines taking pictures for yearbook, when all of the sudden a man grabs me, pulls me back, and there are like fifty football players laying in a pile at my feet. Thank goodness for that man or my life could've been over. We lost the game, but the school we played has like five times as many people if that counts for anything. Hopefully next Friday will go better.

In the Trenches on Thursday

Before school started i went back to school shopping. One piece that I bought that I was the most excited about was a tan trench coat. It was so soft and fit me perfectly. I had to get it, even though I knew it would be a little bit before I wore it. Well today was the day. It was just cool enough this morning for a need for a lightweight coat over my cap sleeve dress. I was very rushed this morning so I had to throw something together and I was surprised at how fabulous it went with my outfit. I just knew it was time. I wore a forest green bubble dress, with a spiral print that almost looks navy when the light hits it right. I wore a navy belt and navy flats to bring that color out. I wore diamond studs and my gold vintage watch for added classiness. This year at school we are all about keeping it classy if you all were wondering why I use that word so much. I am in love with that trench coat it may be hard to keep me out of it this fall. The burgundy yesterday and forest green today makes me so excited for this fall season! I wanted to wear a scarf but I just knew it would be too much.
Tomorrow we are igniting the knights so that means red and yellow!

Bumping over the Hump in Burgundy

Day 10. Wednesday. And keeping it classy. Today I went with a satin burgundy dress, that hits just a few inches over the knee. It has a pleated neck. I wore a black cardigan over it with black patent leather flats. I also added a white belt with silver and copper studs for a little pizazz. I kept the copper bangle from yesterday, and just for little diamond studs. Today was a last minute outfit, more last minute than most. But I think I threw it together well. It was very comfortable, the only downer was it got pretty staticy and I forgot to put a dryer sheet in my pocketbook. They are the best quick fix for problems with static. Just rub it over your legs or against the dress or skirt and wala! Hairspray also works sometimes, it just gets a little sticky if you are not wearing tights. Hope my tip is helpful!

A Copper Kickoff

Ahh, Monday. Oh wait, no Tuesday! Well no matter the day it is the start to my school week. My dad just got back from Atlanta and he got me this two inch copper bangle. I knew I wanted to highlight this piece of jewelry, so I went with a more basic outfit. I wore pinstripe jean trouser shorts, a thin cream half sleeve sweater, and a thin stripped cream, green, and yellow, scarf for color. I had a little accident over the weekend and kicked a counter so it hurts a bit to wear heels, as a result I wore copper goldish moccasins, the copper bangle, and rustic copper earrings. This outfit was extremely comfortable, and it really showed off the bangle. This is a short post, but I have a feeling this is going to be a busy week so i need to get as much done as possible in the most efficient way.

Implied Excitement for Spartan Friday

It was our second Spartan Friday, and it was fabulous! Thursday night a bunch of the seniors got together and made shirts that spelled out Go Spartans! Well I was the exclamation mark, and very excited about it. We had black shirts with white writing. We also had little pockets. I put a bow on my pocket and stripes and polka dots in my exclamation mark. I wore white shorts and silver and black gladiators and silver jewelry. I changed into blue jeans shorts for the games because I spilled Subway on my white ones. There is not many times you will get me in a tee shirt, but supporting my school and having school spirit is one of them! And I think the shirts really did help, we won, 47-0! What a game! Next Friday we play one of our biggest rivalries so we just need to stay focused so we can do just as good... if not better.
Go Spartans!

Day Seven, Sweet and Short

Hey Guys, so I know I am behind I just have not been at a computer since Wednesday and I do not want to have to do a whole post on an iPhone. So today was Thursday and I realized that the last really warm days are coming to an end so I wanted to make sure and get as many short outfits in as possible. I decided to go with a floral strapless romper with ruffles. Black leather sandals, silver jewelry, and we can not go strapless at school so a black cardigan over it. This romper is so comfortable and I actually do not pull it up constantly throughout the day. It is also I good thing I wore flat shoes because I had to deliver packages to every single classroom on Thursday. The only problem I encountered was that the romper is gathered at the waist but it is not a high waist so it likes to ride up, but other than that this outfit was a success and I do not know why but I always get more compliments than normal when I wear a romper... mm, I am not complaining.

A Simple Day Six

Today, is Wednesday. Finally over the hump. But I just was not in to mood for anything too crazy or that took a lot of thought, so I went with a denim shirt dress from Tommy, it buttons all the way down, has 3/4ths sleeves and it has small ruffles at the neck for a feminine touch. I wore a cloth belt and a turquoise floral scarf and turquoise sandals to add some color. I pull my hair back in a bun, just was not in the mood to mess with it today. Big silver earrings with a floral pattern, a silver heart bracelet, and a pink sapphire ring, yes i said pink sapphire. This dress is so comfortable I could die, or just wear it every single day. I also love that I can wear it as so many different outfits, dress it up or dress it down. I would most def say a denim dress is an essential for an closet. Even my mom has one. I had absolutely nothing wrong with my outfit today other than getting a little warm with the scarf when I was outside, but that is an easy fix. I found out today that we have to wear our class colors for Spartan Friday, which is black for me, so I better start looking for something to top last Friday's black outfit!
I feel like this blog wasn't very interesting but, it was a simple day, as far as my outfit goes.

Topless Tuesday

No, no, I did not go topless. But at least I got your attention. Today I went with a top I have been waiting to wear... for like a week. It was a light cream colored flower crochet top. It has wide holes so I wore a hot pink camisole under it for coverage. That is wear I got the topless from. I paired the top half with a favorite pair of wide leg jeans and pink and purple floral wedges. Major. I already had two compliments before I walked out of my house door (mom and dad). I also wore earthy jewelry and a pink ice ring. I carried the same hemp bag from Ecuador. I thought today was going to be a little cooler because this morning it was only 70 degrees, to bad it was 95 by lunch, so the jeans were a little hot, but at least I stayed cozy in class. I also, once again, brought a pair of morocco print toms for fourth period. When I got home I changed into trouser shorts so I would be cooler for afternoon activities, like my boyfriends softball games. His team got runners up for the league woo! And I left my toms on so I would be a bit more practical.
Tomorrow is another hot day, but with hurricane Earl coming in we may have some rain.

Maroon on Monday

Mondays are always the most dreaded day of the week, especially during the school year. There is only one good thing I can think of... a week of new fabulous outfits. This Monday I went with a maroon Fossil drape neck dress. It has a small square print, classy. The dress is gathered underneath the bust line to accentuate the best parts of a body. I wore chocolate wedges with flowers, and a cropped khaki blazer. It gets very chilly in my school sometimes. I wore coconut shell heart earrings, a gold vintage watch and a diamond ring. I carried a handmade hemp bag from Ecuador. I knew I would be walking around the school a lot during fourth period so i brought a pair of brown gladiators for that. This is one of my favorite dresses, it is so comfortable. I think people are crazy when they ask why I wear dresses so much, they are a thousand times more comfortable than skinny jeans. Sorry this post is so short, I have just had an extremely busy day.

Third Times the Charm

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for the delay, but at least the internet is back up so I am only a day late. Yesterday was our first "Spartan Friday". Spartan Friday is when everybody at the school wears something to show support for our school. This Friday we were all supposed to wear black to "blackout the tigers". Well I was not prepared to wear a t-shirt yet, so I went with a casual black dress, with a skinny silver braided belt, black and silver stud earrings, a paua shell necklace for pop, two silver charm bracelets, and reinvented my me silver sandals. My beagle, Dexter, got a hold of them a few weeks ago chewed the strap in half. Those sandals were some of my favorite shoes ever so I had to find a way to fix them. So I took both straps completely off and put where the straps would go black shoelaces out of an old pair of sneakers. Wrapped the shoe string around my ankle until it was the right length and tied it in a bow. I actually got many compliments on them, and I think they look cuter now! One thing that did not go right with my outfit was the black dress was extremely thin and you could see right through it so I had to find something to wear underneath. I found a short white dress i normally wear over bathing suits to wear under it. The white dress was borderline the same length as the black dress so I was incessantly checking to see if it was hanging out underneath. Other than that I was happy with my outfit and was able to have school spirit and stay in style! I did change before I went to the football game into something a little more comfortable, a screaming Spartans tee shirt and denim pin stripe shorts with the same shoes and jewelry. We ended up winning the game in overtime woo!
Go Spartans!

Two Times the Rope

Hi All,

Today was my second day of school. We started to get down to business. I knew we were going to have to write an essay in English and any time I have to do anything for a long amount of time I always like to make sure I wear something i will be comfortable in, so I went with a skirt. It was an orange, white, yellow, and pink floral print. It hit right above the knee, teacher approved. There is no reason to have to worry about anything hanging out anyways, especially in school. I wore it at a high waist, paired with a long white rope belt, wrapped multiple times. For shoes I went with a pair of white wedges. Wedges sometimes amaze at how comfortable they can be! Up top I wore a basic round neck white fitted tee, with statement silver jewelry, a double row freshwater pearl bracelet, and a major silver bag with a quilted pattern. everything about this outfit I love, however I wish would have gotten a smaller size in the skirt because throughout the day it tends to loosen up. I also wish I would have added a long silver necklace.
Only 178 to go!

First Impressions

Hello,
My name is Madison Broadway. I attend Central Davidson High School in North Carolina. Throughout my senior year I plan to post daily about what I wear to school each day. I will post pros and cons about my outfits, what I wish I would have done differently and what I am most proud about. Today was my first day of my senior year. I have always thought that what a person wears is extremely important. By looking at what a person is wearing you can figure out many characteristics about that person without even saying one word to them. It is said that you should not judge a book by its cover, but honestly who does not? There is a difference about judging someone on raw features and how they put themself together. If someone is put together well then you can tell that they are most likely organized and care about where they are going to go in life.
Well enough chit-chat. Now to the fashion.

Today I wanted to start out my year with something to make a statement, but nothing that would make the people in my small town go 'what is she thinking'. So, I chose a black romper with gold buttons, paired with a creme cropped cardigan with a black sequin trim. Black patent leather flats, that I actually wore my first day of my freshman year, and small gold hoops, a vintage gold and diamond watch, and a big gold ring with a black stone. I carried a creme vintage bag with gold details. I was very happy with my outfit and I got many compliments. I do wish I would have picked a different ring because the one I wore was almost too big. I found myself taking it off multiple times. The shoes I wore were a little tight and I really wish I had a pair of gold flats to wear with the outfit. The romper was one of the most comfortable things I have ever worn to school, I could seriously live in rompers. Tonight I attended a softball game and I did not change clothes. Pieces that are versatile, like a romper, are a must for any wardrobe.

Today the tempature stayed in the mid 80s.

I look forward to 179 more fashionable days!
